Services for Schools
I provide assessment and therapy for children with:
- Speech sound difficulties
- Difficulties with understanding language (understanding words, instructions, questions and conversations)
- Difficulties with vocabulary and word finding
- Difficulties with forming sentences (joining words together, missing small words out, putting words in the wrong order, having conversations)
- Specific Language Impairment (SLI)
- Difficulties with accessing education due to speech and language difficulties
- Delayed play skills
- Delayed attention and listening skills
I can tailor Speech and Language Therapy services to meet the specific needs of your school and the children who need support. Schools may decide to buy-in full days, half days or one off visits. This can be arranged to supplement and enhance the service that the local NHS trust provides.
Work in schools may involve:
Assessing children with Speech Language and Communication Needs (SLCN); Individualised 1:1 work with children; Setting up and running small groups; Whole class support to promote inclusion, and support and mentoring to Teaching assistants.

I am a registered ICAN tutor for the Talk Boost programme. Talk Boost is an evidenced programme for children aged 5-7 carried out by teaching assistants and teachers. After ten weeks of Talk Boost intervention children's communication skills have been found to develop by an average of 18 months.
